Product & Marketing Manager Date posted: 19th August 2010 Our client is the expanding European operation of a large US global multinational, a market leader in its chosen sector, with further operations in USA, Brazil, China and Australia. Based in Berkshire in a modern industrial unit, from where they are responsible for the sales and manufacture of products for a commercial customer base which stretches across Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. The Product & Marketing Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the marketing of chemical dispensing products which are used in the commercial and industrial cleaning sector, primarily in hospitals, hotels, schools, offices etc. This is an important appointment for a growing enterprise and the successful candidate will be seen as a key part of the senior management team to drive the company forward over the next decade. There will be significant future career development opportunities within the company and wider group, which is part of a publicly quoted US $8Billion business. The role is challenging, varied and exciting and responsibilities will include:. § Product and Marketing strategy, working closely with the MD § All aspects of product planning and marketing § Working closely with Engineering and Operations to ensure that products are ready and fit for market § Prioritising of product and customer requirements § Developing the core positioning and sales message for products § Advertising, PR and sales promotion § Maintaining contacts with the trade media § Maintaining a photo library of products § Managing the production of all marketing and POS material § Liaising with external marketing agencies § Creating, maintaining and updating the company’s websites § Organising and attending trade shows and exhibitions § Market research to assess demand, competitive positioning and customer awareness § Contributing to and developing long-term product and marketing plans and strategies § Assisting the Managing Director in the delivery of approved strategies § Liaising with marketing colleagues in USA Some degree of short trip duration travel in our sales area and USA will be involved Qualifications and requirements ESSENTIAL · University degree or equivalent qualification in Economics, Business, Marketing or similar. · Minimum of 10 years experience in B2B Product planning and Marketing · Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills · Excellent written and verbal English communication skills · Willingness to travel in UK and EMEA area as the job demands DESIRABLE · MBA · Familiarity and ease with technical products · Experience of working within small companies Additional European languages Excellent salary and benefits package as well as career security.
